Syllabus

An introductory analysis of the ‘linear and ethical’ nature of Western eschatology within the context of Creation and the Fall extending to the Parousia; A Roman Catholic understanding of the Parousia and Judgement within the context described above; The impact of Greek philosophical suppositions on Christian eschatology with a particular emphasis on the contribution of Neo-Platonism and medieval applications; Analysis of the Roman Catholic ecclesial understanding of a tripartite unity of the Church comprising the ‘communion of saints’ on earth and in purgatory and heaven.
