Syllabus

Basic introduction to best practice and skills in counselling, preparing the ground for more specific attention in the following modules to the ministry of spiritual accompaniment in the context of formation. Beginning with a brief explanation of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Human Needs, and Rogers’ Person Centred Counselling, the remainder of the term will be devoted to study and practice of the skills explained in Gerald Egan’s Skilled Helper Model.

There will be practical sessions each week designed to ground the learning in personal experience
